My sweet girls on the Santa Cruz summer project wrote this tale for me. I hope you enjoy it!
Once upon a time, there lived an awesomely Godly Lady, AGL (Action Group Leader) for short, named Kimberly Buck. She lived in a magical place called the Peter Pan (and it really was magical because...it's Disney!) Five Maidens from the far kingdoms Nebreeska, North Caroleena, Kentookee, Teexas, and Mary Land came there to worship the King. On their journey, the maidens were placed under the gentle care of young Kimberly.
As their journey progressed, many hardships came to pass. One of which occurred on a cold, dark night. One maiden was minding her own business, when out of the back seat of the silver steed, (Kim's car!) another maiden brutally slashed her eye with her perfectly manicured fingernail. But then, at once, Kimberly fled to her side and spoke comforting words to the young maiden, "it's alright, it's just a corneal abrasion."
Along with their hardships came much wisdom and guidance from Kimberly. She taught the fair maidens how to love one another like their King would. She equipped them with the knowledge needed to fight off any dragons or serpents in their path. One day, while Kimberly and her maidens were feeding the poor, a lonely east coast frog hopped right over to Kimberly and asked her to a feast. She sadly declined saying, "Sorry, I'm going to Korea tomorrow."
Kimberly then flew to the foreign nation on behalf of the King and left her maidens to fend for themselves. Her absence did not stop the maidens from becoming better daughters of the King. They continued to tell the captives how to be set free from their bondage by knowing the King of Kings personally. Although, they did miss the way she gracefully steered her silver steed throughout the land of Santa Cruz. Upon her return to the Peter Pan, the maidens welcomed her with open arms and teased hair.
And now it's time for Kimberly to depart. Her maidens are sadened...but they know in their hearts...the wisdom she's given will help them achieve a closer relationship with their King. The maidens wish Kimberly well and blessing from the King from kingdoms near and far.
P.S. The endless flavors of the sweet nectar from Marianne's (our fave ice cream place)will forever linger on their tongues.
